THE STORY: Sonya, a Chicago playwright has invited her closest friends to the apartment she shares with her actor boyfriend, Jack, for a reading of her new play. But the play reveals more about the playwright than she might have intended.

Writer/director Brian McKnight was at the helm of the serio-comic production, the first play he authored following his battle with stage-four cancer. A love letter to Chicago theatre, the cast included Shelby Garrett as Sonya, Michael John Lea as her boyfriend Jack, Brian Sharpe as her ex Stanley, Lauren S. Deaton as Emily, Sara Linker as Ilsa, Alex Goodman as Mike, and both Christopher Pazdernick and David Lipschutz as his boyfriend Bernie on alternating nights.

Direction and sound design was by McKnight, lighting design was by Carrie Hill. Ally Wetz was the stage manager.
